Pat Knight

Born Manchester. Studied 5 yrs part-time for a degree in Fine Art Painting at Northbrook College Sussex, and awarded BA Hons 2007. Memory & Loss are the focus of my art and I take much of my inspiration from disused buildings and industrial sites. My final degree show consisted of screen-prints & etchings based on Geevor Tin mines in Cornwall and used as a metaphor for the holocaust and destroyed communities. In 2007/8 I exhibited at Free-Range; Brick Lane London, Chichester Open Exhibition, Worthing Museum/Art Gallery (awarded lst prize student entry by Sussex Watercolour Society) and the Royal Watercolour Society 2lst Century exhibition at Bankside Gallery London. A hand made book was selected for a touring exhibition of artists handmade books by Northampton University, and exhibited at MK artworks Milton Keynes and Portsmouth University (Nov-Dec 2008). After 3 years working primarily in printmaking I am now returning to painting again and recent works are evoked from visiting a vintage car rally. I work mainly in Acrylics and watercolour.
